Do you need your image to be transparent? Well use this, and it will be.

Gimp [full]

A great free photo editing software. I used to use it 2-3 years ago. It's simple to use and easy to understand.

MSN [full]

A program that allows you in instantlly message friends and family. I personally use it and it's great!

Messenger Plus [full]

This is a great add-on to MSN that allows you to change your font to any colour you want, allows you to change the font color in your display name and much more! I have it, and it's a terrific add-on!

Eye Candy 3 [full]

Eye Candy 3 adds finishing touches to your work such as swirls, glass effects, chrome, smoke, fur, water drops, fire effects and more! (Must have Adobe Photoshop)

A photo editing program that I personally use. It's great and pretty easy to figure out.
